The process

  • Our team will meet with you in order to determine your needs, which can be done via phone, email, Zoom, or in person. During this meeting we will discuss your goals and objectives as well as budget and timeframes for production and delivery.

  • Immediately after our initial meeting you will receive an email with instructions on how to send us your artwork. Once we receive your artwork and our production department has set-up your proof, you will receive an email containing your quote and art proof for review and acceptance. You must approve your quote, order, and artwork to begin production.

If we have any questions or need any other information from you, we will contact you. Our goal is 100% customer satisfaction, so we will keep you informed of your order status throughout the production process.

  • Our typical turnaround time is 2 business days to send you your quote and artwork for approval. If you have unique sourcing requests this timeframe could be longer, but will be discussed during our initial meeting. This quote will include an approval or revision option for your customized items and a link to pay your deposit.

A 50% deposit of the total invoice will be due when the artwork is approved. The remaining invoice will be due upon delivery.

Please Note: After your order is approved, any additional changes will result in a delay of the production of your order, and may incur additional fees.

  • Depending on the supplier or if we have your product in inventory, our typical turnaround time is 10 -14 business days after artwork is approved and the deposit is received.

  • Once an order is approved and the deposit is paid, we can not accept any changes, cancellations, or returns. Any changes to the artwork must be requested before the order is approved and your deposit is paid. If you choose to cancel an order after the deposit is made, your deposit will be forfeited.

  • Preferred file types:

We recommend Adobe Illustrator vector files with all fonts converted to outlines. Some common file extensions for vector artwork are: .ai, .eps, and .pdf.

    Other file types:

Raster image files are accepted but not recommended. Also called bitmaps, raster images are made up of small squares (pixels). Once a bitmap is created the number of pixels in the image can never increase which means when you enlarge the image or zoom in, the quality of that image will decrease. Some common file extensions for raster artwork are: .psd, .jpg, .png and .tiff

Raster art may be acceptable for four color process imprint—these files need to be created at a resolution of 300 dpi or greater at ¼” beyond the imprint size. This ensures that when we convert your raster art to a vector we maintain the integrity of the artwork.

Please Note: If we have to recreate your raster artwork from scratch, additional artwork charges may be incurred.

    Additional Artwork Points:

Sending Microsoft Word, Excel or PowerPoint files, or images you have dragged from a website or email signature is not recommended; we will contact you to send a higher quality image, which may result in a delay in production.

Simply changing a file extension (i.e. changing file.jpg to file.ai) does not affect the artwork type/quality. The file needs to be originally created in a vector program.

Unsupported Art File Formats: QuarkXpress, Pagemaker, Corel Draw, Publisher, Freehand. Sometimes, exporting as a PDF from these applications will work.

  • When producing a transfer design that is either trademarked, uses licensed properties, and/or is copyrighted by someone other than yourself, we assume that you have obtained legal permission and could provide legal documentation confirming that you have the right to reproduce the design. We have the right to decline any design that is copyrighted or trademarked in which proper legal documentation cannot be provided. Using professional, college, or corporate licensed images with the intent to profit off the identity requires a license and is illegal without it.

Embroidery faqs

  • Embroidery costs are typically determined by the amount of stitches required for a given project. Upon our first meeting, our team will provide you with a quote.

Each new embroidery job will require a one-time setup fee of $50 per logo or art. Your files will be stored in-house and can be used over and over again. This cost will be on your first invoice in addition to your apparel cost.

  • Yes, of course! We offer several different ways to personalize your apparel beyond just adding a custom embroidered logo. Add a first or last name, number, or nickname to your apparel to really give it that custom feel.

Please Note: Each name will need to be digitized and will incur a separate, one-time setup fee of $12.50.

  • It is not possible to remove an embroidered logo, as the apparel cannot be reused. This makes embroidered items non-refundable or returnable.

  • Yes, unlike other companies, Promote It Utah allows you to supply your own garments and apparel. Please discuss this with our team during your initial meeting to ensure that your garment or apparel item can be embroidered.

Please Note: Although rare, accidents do happen, and your quote will include a release of liability to be signed off on, as well as an additional per garment charge of $4.00 to your invoice.

  • We will not embroider or customize heirloom items such as baby blankets, handkerchiefs from a family member, and any other special, fragile, or irreplaceable items. These items are too fragile and we would never want to unintentionally cause irreversible damage to an irreplaceable item.

  • Yes, we can color match your logo! This will incur an additional 5 business day add-on to the timeline if the thread that you are requesting is not in stock. There is no additional charge for this service, only an increased timeframe for delivery.

Once we receive your Pantone color(s) for your logo we will order the thread and give you an updated delivery guarantee.

  • Yes, we keep your logo on file! On reorders, you do not have to send your logo or artwork again, as long as there are no color changes or edits. Otherwise, you will need to email over your new logo, and incur an additional setup fee.

  • Yes, each logo you wish to get embroidered on the products are digitized separately, and so you will have to pay for each of them.

  • Small text, subtle details, and color gradients are difficult to reproduce with embroidery. Additionally, the level of detail that can be reproduced is affected by the type of fabric the logo is stitched on. This can all be discussed in our initial meeting, and alternative options can be discussed if necessary.

Transfer faqs

  • Pretty much everything! Clothing, hats, plates, mugs, mouse pads, tote bags, puzzles, tumblers, and more. We can even create rhinestone and sequin transfers! Check with our team to see what transfer would be best to meet your specific needs.

  • All price quotes will include the cost of the customization in the final price, as this will not be a separate charge. A one-time setup fee will be charged in addition to your apparel on your first order.

  • Heat transfer printing has become very popular. Heat transfer uses a combination of heat and pressure to print images onto garments, shoes, sports balls, mugs, and many other items. There are two main types of heat transfer methods: vinyl and digital print. Both of these methods require the use of a heat-press machine.

  • Generally, heat transfer printing is recommended for professional and satisfying results simply because the standard laminating devices and home hand irons cannot get even near the temperatures required for heat transfer printing.

Standard transfers require somewhere between 375 to 425 degrees Fahrenheit and demand a serious force in pressing from 40-80 psi. These extraordinary temperatures and pressures are simply not possible with other devices. Promote It Utah has state-of-the-art heat presses to ensure that the proper temperature and pressure are used to customize your items, giving you long lasting results.

  • Absolutely! We have state-of-the-art vinyl cutters, print/cut printers, and screen print transfer printers. Some transfers require a specific heat press and cannot be done with a home iron, so please make sure to discuss what equipment you have available with our team to ensure we provide you with a transfer suitable for your equipment.

  • Yes! We will discuss placement of images during our initial meeting, and we can print on the fronts, backs, sides, legs, and sleeves of apparel.

  • To keep your custom apparel fresh and in good condition, you want to consider laundering as follows:

    • Turn garment inside out

    • Use cold water

    • Air Dry

DO NOT use fabric softeners or bleach, leave directly in the sun, or iron directly on the artwork.

Engraving faqs

  • Custom engraving is a service that many promotional items and custom gifting companies offer to create a unique and personalized experience for their customers. It involves etching or carving designs and messages onto promotional items, packaging, signage, and other products to create something truly memorable.

Custom engraving can be used to give promotional gifts a unique look and feel, creating an even more powerful impact when appealing to customers. Promote It Utah uses the latest technology to ensure the highest quality finish when creating promotional works of art that will capture your audience’s attention and promote your business in a big way.

  • Custom engraving has become increasingly popular due to the endless possibilities it provides. Not only can promotional items and custom gifting and signage be enhanced with personalized engravings, but simple packaging and labels can be redesigned to become eye-catching pieces.

From logos to messages and symbols, custom engraving creates a level of detail that is both practical and promotional, making it an ideal investment for any business that wants to make a statement. It’s also an inexpensive way to add sophistication and uniqueness to promotional items and creative gifting ideas—adding an extra special touch that will leave a lasting impression.

  • Engraving is an art form that can help add a special and personalized touch to almost any type of item. Tumblers, acrylic, awards, wooden plaques, charcuterie boards, coasters, glass products, leather items, custom signs, wedding favors, and cake toppers are just a few of the many items that can be beautifully engraved with your logo or custom design! The variety of materials available ensures that no matter your engraving needs, there's an item for you! Reach out to our team at hello@promoteitutah.com to discuss your wish list and we will see if we can make it happen.

  • Yes! Unlike with other companies, you can supply your own items to Promote It Utah. Please let our team know during our initial meeting that you have your own items to be engraved, so we can determine whether or not they are suitable for engraving.

Please Note: Although rare, accidents do happen, and your quote will include a release of liability to be signed off on, as well as an additional per item charge of $4.00 to your invoice.

  • Yes, there will be a one-time setup fee per piece of art of $50. Your art will be stored in-house and can be used over and over again. Any new artwork will incur the one-time setup fee of $50.

  • Yes, of course! We love to personalize items. You will just need to provide us with your artwork and the list of names when you upload your artwork.

Please Note: Each name will need to be setup and will incur a separate, one-time setup fee of $12.50.

The amount of signs available can be overwhelming, and it’s where a reputable sign company can be valuable as they can help you navigate the various options and also produce and install the type of signs that will work best for your business.

  • Depending on the materials used, signs may need to be cleaned over time, especially outdoor signage. In general, it’s important to avoid harsh cleaners and cleaning products that contain ammonia; instead only use a soap and water mixture. Our team can also make specific recommendations for maintenance based on the type of sign you have.

  • Absolutely not! Our equipment is highly calibrated and able to take on as many colors as necessary.

  • We cannot print on both sides of one vinyl banner, but our two-sided banners are made with two banners attached together. This prevents either print from showing through the material while providing twice the durability.

  • All of our banners include grommets every three to four feet apart on the hemline—per industry standards. If your banner needs to have grommets placed at specific points, please explain in the 'special instructions' space.

  • Our vinyl banners do not come with wind slits, but this option can be arranged for an additional charge. We also have a collection of mesh banners, which are made with loosely woven vinyl that can withstand heavy winds.

  • Yes! Our Vinyl Banners are waterproof and weatherproof. It’s tough to say with Utah’s harsh climate how long they will last, but you can chat with our team about the weather conditions your banner will be exposed to so we can make sure we get you a banner that will withstand the Utah weather.
